I’ve already told you about my frizzy hair problems and frizzy hair hack a while back. Frizz free hair can be a problem especially during hot and humid summer weather (we have enough of that here in Barcelona). If you have wavy hair and are tired of dealing with frizz, this can help you out. I have a couple of product recommendations and some tips and tricks for you this week.
Frizz Free Hair
Let me just put it out there, that this post is not sponsored and does not contain any affiliate links. My opinions would be 100% honest anyway, but I thought you should know in case you were wondering.
Tips & tricks for frizz free hair
- Use a good (and professional) shampoo and conditioner. Choose something nourishing and suited for you hair type. I won’t recommend anything in particular, because I like to switch things up. With all the other steps and products I’ll talk about, I haven’t noticed that big of a difference. I only recommend you stay away from cheap, store bought products as they often contain a lot of silicones, sulphates and other things you hair will not appreciate. So get yourself a good, hydrating professional product.
- This is common knowledge for almost anyone with curly hair, but I’ve discovered that it’s equally as important, even if your hair has just a slight wave to it! DO NOT TO BRUSH YOUR HAIR OUT after you come out of the shower! If you’re battling frizz, try to separate your hair as little as possible (until it dries completely that is). You can brush your hair with a Tangle Teezer while you have conditioner in your hair, but do not brush it after you rinse it out.
- Instead of using a regular towel, use a micro fiber one. Like for example the Turbie Twist. It has excellent absorbing capabilities and is a lot gentler to your hair. I don’t put my head upside down before I put it on though, as I think it’s best to keep the hair in it’s natural position. That will keep it from separating as much and frizz won’t form as easily.
- The R&B Hair Moisturizer from Lush is my new holy grail! I use it EVERY time I plan on air drying my hair. This is not just a styling product, it really hydrates the hair as well! And it doesn’t hurt that it smells good too. The fact that it’s a vegan and cruelty free brand is also a nice thing to know. A little goes a really long way with this! Just take a dab and rub it into the palms of your hands, then run your hands gently over the surface of your hair and start scrunching the hair upwards. I love that it battles frizz and helps me define my waves without leaving my hair crunchy.
TIP: Let your hair dry completely before you start messing around with it, flipping it over to one side, or even brushing it out. Be careful not to use too much product so your hair doesn’t look greasy. You can use it in either wet or dry hair.
